Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Rapidrop, we are constantly looking for new ways to minimise our environmental impact and operate more responsibly. Extending the life cycle of our IT equipment is an important part of that commitment. By ensuring our old devices are reused wherever possible, we not only reduce waste but also support projects that create real social value. Our recent donation to the Turing Trust is a great example of how thoughtful action can benefit both the planet and the communities around us.
Empowering Students Through Technology
Every computer donated helps around 18 students gain access to vital digital education. That means our old equipment will help 486 students to now have the opportunity to learn essential IT skills that can shape their futures.
This impact stretches far beyond the classroom, helping young people gain confidence, expand their career prospects, and become active participants in an increasingly digital world.
The Environmental Impact
This donation also creates meaningful environmental benefits:
- 8 tonnes of CO₂ emissions offset
- The equivalent of planting 19 trees
- Enough embodied energy savings to power 2 UK homes for an entire year
These savings contribute directly to reducing e‑waste, lowering carbon footprints, and supporting a more sustainable planet for future generations.
Impact at a Glance
Below is the key impact data from your donation, illustrated in the attached infographic:
- 486 students supported
• 8 tonnes of CO₂ offset
• 19 trees’ worth of carbon absorbed
• Energy savings equal to powering 2 homes for a year
Making a Real Difference
This donation and similar ones from other businesses helps bridge the digital divide while protecting the environment. Together this helps give technology a second life, giving young people around the world the opportunity to learn and reducing waste at the same time.

October 2025
It is impossible to ignore the changes in the climate these days or the media coverage relating to the impact we are all having.
As a manufacturing business there are many different areas that need to be considered when we look at the impact we have on the environment. Having identified this as a key business issue, we have implemented new systems and processes within the business to help minimise our impact on the environment.
As part of this process we achieved our #ISO14001 accreditation renewal early in 2025, which confirms that we have a structured approach to implement an Environmental Management System (EMS).
The accreditation means the following:
- Environmental Performance Improvement:
The standard will ensure that we look to continually improve our environmental performance by setting clear objectives, targets, and monitoring their progress.
- Legal Compliance:
ISO 14001 helps us meet legal and regulatory requirements related to environmental protection.
Our certification also demonstrates our commitment towards environmental management to our staff, our suppliers and most importantly our customers.
In achieving our accreditation we are able to help our customers meet their environmental and legal obligations which vary from country to country, as well as ensure that we continue to reduce our environmental impact.
However, achieving accreditation is only the first step on a long journey. We are already making changes within the business and these include:
- Reducing paper usage
- Monitoring water and electricity usage
- Updating our fleet of vehicles to more fuel efficient or hybrid vehicles
In addition to the more straight forward steps, we are also undertaking to obtain EPD certification for a range of our products. An EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) provides a full breakdown of a product’s environmental impact throughout it’s life cycle, enabling our customers with their efforts to reduce their environmental impact.
We are also working with our suppliers to ensure that they are accredited as well and are also working to reduce their impact.
We know that our objective to reduce our environmental impact is a long journey and one that has to involve all our staff, our suppliers as well as our customers. We will be continuously evolving and looking at areas to reduce our environmental impact.
